Medical Assistant

Job Description:

Coastal Health Group is an injury centered, multi-specialty medical and wellness practice with particular focus in spine injury care, recovery, and rehabilitation. We are a team of dedicated professionals expanding to meet the growing needs of Florida Residents in providing injury care with locations spanning across the South Florida Coast.

We are looking for energetic, positive Medical Assistants for our quickly growing practice. Candidates who are eager to work in a fast-paced environment with a zest for travel are encouraged to apply. We have multiple locations throughout Palm Beach, and Broward county Miami-Dade and ability to travel is a must.

This position will be in Interventional Pain Management and Neurosurgical clinics, taking histories, vitals and helping process patients during clinic. Assistance with administrative duties will be required on non-clinical days. Growth within our practice is available for the right person. Responsibilities

  • Interview patients and document basic medical history
  • Organize and schedule appointments
  • Update and file medical records and insurance reports
  • Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
  • Check in with patients and digitally record patients’ charts
  • Assist during medical examinations
  • Produce and distribute correspondence memos, letters, faxes and forms
  • Handle receivable and payable accounts and keep financial records
  • Prepare and clean treatment rooms and medical instruments

Skills

  • Proven working experience as a medical assistant or medical secretary
  • Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Social perceptiveness and service oriented
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
  • Certification in medical assistance (plus, but not required)
